I just learned at work that Google has a version of its search engine they are making more accessible to the visually impaired. Personally, Never had a problem with standard google, but no matter. I'd be interested in hearing what some of you think about this variation on Google. Go to http://labs.google.com/accessible/
Let me know what you find/think.
Thanks,
Lou
I've never had problem with Google Search either. This interface is neat but I did a search on regular as well as this Google and I got the same pages in same order, even if one of the pages was very hard to access with Jaws, so I am not entirely convinced that this represents a major break through. Still, it's just the first phase of their accessibility inivitative and I'm happy to see them trying to at lesat consider accessibility. I wish they'd concentrate on making their own prodcuts such as gmail accessible.
I agree. Interesting thing was that yesterday, I got different search results in a different order. I agree about gmail. I don't have an account there, but when I tried they had that "type in the numbers" game going on. Thanks for your input. appreciate the thoughtful nature of all your posts.

They really need to get google talk working with speech first, seen as gmail now works fine. BEN.
Yup, use GMail and was able to use there audible identification without a problem. As far as the accessible search, I haven't played alot with it. I believe the idea is that it is supposed to bring up pages that comply with certain guidelines for accessibility and hopefully work better with screen readers. So far for me regular google has been fine.
